Samuel Langhorne Clements was born on 30th of November, 1835 in Missouri, USA in a small town on the missisippi River.

At the ageof 16, Clements started working for a newspaper in his hometown. Eight years later, he became a riverboat pilot and wrote many stories about people living on the river
