The Polos spend 17 years in China. Kublai takes a liking to Marco, and sends him on missions. Marco was the governer of the city of Yangzhou for 3 years.

The Polos rested in Persia for 2 years and they were about to go to China when they heard that Kublai Khan died, so they headed to go to Venice with lots of loot.

The Polos return to Venice and with them riches and stories the Polos told the people, but the people did not believe them.

Marco Polo was made a 'Man Commander" of a galley. His ship joins a battle and is taken away as prisoner. Marco meets a writer and tells him about his travels in eastern Asia in jail.
