The Japanese had planned an attack against the Americans to attack some of their fleets. The Americans surprised the Japanese though and were able to take down 4 of their carriers. This attack Japan to lose a lot of their planes and skilled pilots, and they were not able to do anymore offensive attacks in the Pacific.

On June 6th, 1944, the invasion on Western Europe had begun. There were many casualties due to the German invasion. But by late July, 2 million allied troops has arrived and France was liberated from Germany.

Germany Launched a counter attack on Belgium and Luxembourg. They pushed the US army back that it created a bulge at the Allied lines. This was known as the largest battle in Western Europe during World War II.
