    Madeline moved to Paris for 5 years, and Louis introduced her to Priest Varin. Madeline was set on becoming a carmelite, but Varin convinced her to join him in the Society of the Sacred Heart.

    Varin appointed Sophie as superior of the Sacred Heart.

    Sophie (now the superior of all Sacred Heart schools) told the society that the new Mother House was now in Paris.
