in Cologne, Germany. His father advertised and claimed that his age was six years old, although he was in fact seven,but he probably did this to draw comparisons with Mozart which at that time Mozart was a well known child prodigy. -
When Beethoven was about 11 years old to study music full time with Christian Gottlob Neefe Beethoven dropped out of school.

At the age of 12 Beethoven published his first composition, which were a set of piano variations on a theme by an obscure classical composer named Dressler.

By 1784, his alcoholism worsening Beethoven's father could no longer support his father.

Beethoven's final and last symphony was Symphony No.9 which ended with his most famous piece "Ode to Joy."
