    During his childhood Louis befriended the people of the Kikuyu Tribe. He was the only white man that was initiated from youth to manhood by tribe.

    He attended a college after WWI in Egland and in 1922 he attended another college.

    Louis orginized an expedition to search for dinosuar fossils in southern Tanganyika.

    After the dicovery of the earliest (at the time) stone tools, Leaky discovered fossils of human remains. His claims concerning the idea that homo sapiens lived in east Africa was officially accepted in 1969.

    Leakey temporarily ceased studying prehistory to spend 3 yearsworking on a monograph of the Kikuyu Tribe.

    A fossil hominid skull was found in Olduvai. Louis named this skull Zinjanthropus.
  • More Bones!

    A skull found in 1960, along with bones found in 1962made the new type of specieces of man "homo habilis." He also found another type of skull that belonged to Homo Erectys, it was previously foundonly in Japan and China but was found in Tanzania.

    Leakey and his team excavated near Calica mountains (southern Californa) and discovered man was in america for more than 50,000.
