He was born in Coupvray, France, a small town near Paris. He and his three elder siblings lived with their parents, Simon-René and Monique. -
Braille cuts his eye with an awl
At the age of three, the child was toying with some of the tools, trying to make holes in a piece of leather with an awl. Squinting closely at the surface, he pressed down hard to drive the point in, and the awl glanced across the tough leather and struck him in one of his eyes. -
Louis gets infected with tuberculosis
Louis was officially diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1835. After years and years of hard work and dedication and modifying and editing and making the system easier to use , Louis Braille has officially finished and published the Braille system. -
Louis Braille’s death
After succeeding to make the most easiest and efficient system for the blind and being a very vital man to this world and after being diagnosed with tuberculosis, Louis died 2 days after his 43rd birthday.
