WIlliam Golding attended Bransenose College at Oxford in 1930.
William spent two years studying science and in his third year he switched to the literature program. That same year he married Ann Brookfield. -
WIlliam Golding taught English and phillosphy in Salisbury however he didn't only work as a teacher but he also worked as a writer, actor and producer.

William's teaching career was unsuccessful so he left his teaching career in 1940 and joined the Royal Navy.
