    Kurt Cobain was born on 1967 and was the lead singer of nirvana until 1994, when he died from an overdose of shotgun. People say that he couldnt handle his fame and was addicted to heroine. I say it was work of another organization.

    Born in 1971, he is (was) the worlds best rapper and is the #1 dead artist, making the most money.$$$ He was active in a dispute between a hip hop controversey that may have ended up getting him killed.

    On april 19th 1989, Chinese students occupy the square in a peaceful protest against the corrupt government. The army was brought in and opens fire on civilians.

    People believed that computers would not change the date from 1999 to 2000 because they weren't programmed to, so they also believed that that would overload them and make them stop working. Turns out the computers never had that problem. About 300 billion was wasted trying to find an unneeded solution.

    Mayor Barrion Barry was a black DC City Council member but was arrested for drugs. He was the first black civil rights activist to get a high government position in a major city. Even after the drug charges, people still liked him.Good.

    From the second of August of 1990 to the 28th of February 19991. The US along with 34 coalition forces from other nations waged war against Iraq for the forced annexation of Kuwait. Geaorge Bush was the president at the time and the opposition was led by Saddam Hussein.
  • Rodney King Beating

    1992, Los Angeles Rodney King was beaten by 4 cops after surrendering in a high speed car chase. The 4 cops were released without charges and there was a massive public outrage over this and many people began to riot and the riots stopped once the military got involved. The total anarchy costed $1 billion and 58 people plus 2000 others. This is important because so many people got involved with the anarchy that resulted and it killed people and costed alot of money

    On February 28th 1993, 4 ATF agents and 6 religious group members of the Davidians were killed after a raid in their church because they were suspected of owning illegal weapons. In response to the death of the 4 agents, the FBI got involved and turned the raid into a siege lasting 51 days and ending on April 19th when the church caught fire, killing 76 people including their leader David Kuresh. This event turns to be the primary motivation for the Oklahoma City bombing that takes place in 2yrs

    Allowed free trade with the big 3 North American countries; Canada, Mexico, United States. Was formed on Jan 1, 1994 under George Bush. This was significant because it improved economy of both 3 countries and also political relations.

    On April 7th 1994, racial tensions between Tutsi and Hutu ended up with Hutu committing genocide.
  • Nelson Mandela Election

    President of South Africa, worked to remove the racial segregation and changed the way whites and blacks thought so they could get along. He also fought to prevent AIDS/HIV.

    OJ Simpson was a famous football player, but in 1995 he was charged with the murder of 2 people. He ran from the charges put on him by starting a car chase. It became the most watched event in US history with half of the us population watching the chase on TV. OJ got away free but in 2007, he was arrested for armed robbery.

    John “Jock” Wallace, a Scottish football player, died that day. He is the only player ever to play for 3 cups in a season . Gas was cheap, costing $1.23. Amendments raised minimum wage to $4.75.     FIrst Olympics to be sperated from the winter olympics by year. A security guard discovered a pipe bomb and notified police. THey weren't fast enough to evacuate and cause 2 deaths and wounded 111 others.
  • Clinton Impeached

    Clinton was impeached on February 12, 1999 because of obstruction of justice and perjury over a sexual harassment lawsuit by Paula Jones. This is significant because he is the second president to be successfully impeached.
  • Oaklahoma Bombing

    On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols planned and carried out a terrorist attack on a federal building killing in Oaklahoma City, 168 people and injuring 680+ others. This was significant because it raised security around federal buildings and passed the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996.

    2 students open fire on students in Columbine highschool on 4/20 1999. They also planted bombs.15 deaths and 21 injuries. This was one of the first high school targeted terrorist attacks in the 19th century
  • 2000 president election

    The date is self explanatory, but Bush became president and then Gore made a documentary about earth and stuff but it was a extremely close election.

    On September 11 2001,19 members of an Islamic Terrorist group called Al-queda hijacked 4 planes mid-air and crashed 2 of the planes into the Twin Towers in New York, 1 into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the other crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania because of the passengers revolting against the hijackers. It is the largest attack on America in American history with almost 3,000 deaths, almost completely all being civillians.

    The U.S acts as the global police force to try to stop criminals in foreign countries and when an accident happens in that country, they get pissed and tensions rise and we then start fights with them and more people start to join the terrorirst forces.

    Iraqi War From 20 March 2003 – 15 December 2011, the US and many other forces invaded Iraq because the new government was lame. A bunch of leaders of countries were involved and Saddam again returns from the grave. This is signifigant because alot of media covered this.

    In late August of 2005, a hurricane formed and crossed over New Orleans,Louisiana. It was the most damaging natural disaster in history causing an estimated 81 billion dollars in damage. Much of the damage was caused because of levee’s failing to function when the hurricane causing the water levels to rise.

    The biggest movie of the week for my birthday was The Conjuring. I am still in Austin and I did nothing on my birthday. One event that happened on my birthday was a tragedy. In spain, a train derailed killing 78 passengers. The average cost of gas was $3.67. The minimum wage was $7.25. The median family income was $51,404. The low that day was 77F and the high was 97F.
