    On December 1st, 1949, Pablo Escobar was born into a lower-middle class faamily in Rionegro, Colombia. Up until the age of 9, Pablo lived during the time period of La Violencia, or the violence. La Violencia was a civil war in Colombia, where the conservative and liberal parties fought against each other. As a child, Pablo had a dream to become a millionaire by the age of 22.

    Growing up as a child in a lower-middle class familymeant that Pablo would do anything to recieve money. One major way that Pablo used to gain some extra cash was by selling drugs on the streets, or even internationally. His two major exports consisted of marijuana and coca leaves that he bought from Bolivia. However, even though he was not part of a cartel, Pablo still managed to traffic drugs into the U.S. during his teens.

    The Medillen Cartel
    Eventuall, starting as a beginner drug dealer paid off for Pablo in the future. Pablo Escobar teamed up with 5 other drug dealers to form the Medellin Cartel. These five include The Ocho Brothers, Jorge Luis, Juan David and Fabio. Later on, the Medellin cartel would become one of the most successful cartels in history. Thus, earning Pablo his title of the "King of Cocaine."

    Drugs have become a major part of Pablo's life, being the source of in come for him. However, his pay was not as good as he wanted it to be, and he wanted more power. In 1975, Pablo allegedly murdered a drug dealer named Fabio Restrepo, in order to gain more power. Pablo was never actually proven guilty of the crome, but one may infer by his desire for money and power

    10 years after the creation of the Medellin cartel, cocaine sales started to sky rocket through the U.S. Most of the drugs however, came from one group, the Medellin Cartel. In fact, around 90% of America's cocaine has been sold by the major Colombian cartel. With all of the sales, Pablo and his cartel became one of the most powerful and well-known cartels ever.

    Even with everything that he achieved over the years, Pablo Escobar still felt that something was missing. This thing is the most power one could have. So in the 80's, Pablo took it upon himself to assassinate 3 colombian presidential canidates, other political figures, and over 1,000 officers. Doing so brought Pablo to the amount of power that we know he had today.

    With all of the power and attention that escobar has gained over the years, the risk of being caught by police also increased by a lot. Even a man with so much power knows when to "pull out." However, for Pablo, "pulling out" meant that he would only traffic drugs indirectly through his cartel rather than doing it himself.

    Even though he took himself out of directly trafficking drugs, Pablo still did not feel completely safe. To ensure his protection, Pablo took multiple steps. First of all, all the way back in 1979, Pablo tried to nullify the American-Colombian Extradition Treaty, which allows Colombia to extradite Pablo over to America. Pablo was in fact afraid of Americn Prisons. Also, in 1991, Pablo built a prison where he would "spend time", even though the prison was more like a hotel.

    In 1992, a year and a half after his arrival at his "priosn", Pablo Escobar escapes La Catedral Prison. This escape occured when soldiers tried to seize Escobar to try to move him to a more secure prison. After this attempt, Pablo took 2 government officials as hostages to allow him to escape.
  • Pablo's Death

    One year after his escape, Pablo Escobar was finally found while in hiding. One day Centra Spike, an intelligence support that monitored the phone calls of Escobar, listened in on a conversation between Pablo and his son, allowing the search block access to his location.Upon arrival, the Colombian search block initiated in a shoot out with Pablo and two remaining body guards. It is known that Pablo died from being shot around 3 times, but no one is sure shot that fatal shot.
