Marie Antoinette was born on November 15, 1755. She was born in Austria/ She had fourteen other siblings when she was born. Now that is a HUGE family!

Seven Year War Begins
In January of 1756, just one year after Marie Antoinette's birth, Austria and France experiened the beginning of the Seven Year War. This war was fought over a diplomatic revolution. Alliances were made during this time and set both of the countries involved in a frenzy.

Marie Antoinette's Arranged Marriage
Marie Antoinette and Louis Auguste were married on May 16, 1770. They were an extremely young and immature couple. They were married at Versailles. Marie's new husband was very shy and did not seem sexually attracted to Marie. The couple struggled to keep it together. Louis often stuck to watch making and hunting instead of spending quality time with his wife.

Louis Auguste becomes King of France
Just five short years after being married, Louis and Marie become high royalty in France. At just twenty years old, Louis' father dies and he becomes the heir to the throne. Louis was a very timid king. He just did not show interest in such things. The picture below is from the motion picture, Marie Antoinette. This picture symbolizes the announcement that Louis would take the throne.

Birth of Marie's First Child, Marie Thérèse Charlotte.
Marie Antoinette finally had a child with Louis. Many believed that little Marie looked just like her mother. Marie Antoinette spent a lot of time with her children. They were her life. I was unable to find the exact date that Marie was born, but she was the first child in the family.

Marie Antoinette's Rumored Affair
Sometime in 1780, rumors began to fly about an affair with Count Axel von Fersen. He was a Swedish diplomat and a French Army Officer. He spent a lot of time at the same place Marie went for vacation.

Marie's Mother Dies
On November 29, 1780 Marie Antoinette's mother passes away. She and Marie were very close. She was the empress of Austria. Don't you think it would be very hard for Marie to marry into a family that was fighting against her homeland?

Birth of Marie Antoinette's Second Child, Louis Joseph.
Louis Joseph was the second child born to Louis and Marie. It was a very good thing that he was a boy. That way, he could one day possibly be an heir to the throne. In my opinion, Marie had beautiful children. I was also unsure of the exact date of birth for Louis Joseph, but I did find that he was born in 1781. Sadly, on June 4, 1789, Louis Joseph dies from Tuberculosis.

Birth of Marie's Third Child, Louis Charles
Marie Antoinette's third child was another boy. In my opinion he favored the looks of his father. He could be an heir to the throne as well. I was also unable to find his exact birthdate, but it did say he was born in 1875.

Birth of Marie's Fourth Child, Sophie Beatrix
Sophie was the last girl born into Marie and Louis' family. Today, many people name their children after this famous baby. Sadly, Sophie dies shortly before her first birthday. It did not say the cause of death in the source I used, and it also did not give the exact birthdate either.

Fleeing and Arrest of the Royal Family
Because of all the horrible things happening around France, the family tries to flee to safety. The people of France are angry for the way their money has been spent and want to attack the family. The family fled and was arrested sometime between June 20th and June 25th.

Imprisonment of the Royal Family
The Royal family is sent to prison on August 13, 1792. The people of France do not want anymore decisions made by royalty. The family is sent to the Temple prison. A picture of the famous Temple prison is displayed for you.

Execution of Marie Antoinette
On October 14th, Marie is tried in court for sexually abusing her son, treason and an accused involvement in a theft of diamonds. There was no proof on anything that she was charged with, but she was tried with a jury of all males. They accused her of it all and she was sentenced to an execution. She was beheaded in front of France. I personally really enjoy Marie Antoinette history.
