i Entered Oxford for two years to study law .during this time,i wrote comedies and studied Greek and Latin literature. One of my first works was an English translation of a Latin biography an Italian humanist .

I thomas more died in the year 1535 on the 7 th of june by king henry beheading me. i was ready to get punished aslong as i die a martyr.

WHEN HE WAS CANONIZED?

Four hundred years after my death, i Thomas More was canonized in the Catholic Church by Pope Pius XI and was later declared the patron saint of politicians and statesmen by Pope John Paul II.
