This is were the Lewis and Clark expidetion began. The expidetion began by going up the Missouri river. Clark said "lewis is already in St. Louis getting everything ready.

Sgt. Charles Floyd died from probably a burst appendix. The captians named the hilltop where he is burried Floyds bluff.

The Captains decided to build a fort accross the river from the Mandan Indians.

The Captains hire French cook and his wife Sacagawea who is a shoshone Indian. She helped lead the group westward.

Sacajawia gave birth to a son named Jean Baptiste. She gave birth at Fort Mandan.

Lewis and another hunter hear a man runing and yelling a bear is chasing him after I shot him. The men go and shoot the bear a few times before it dies.

Lewis was scotting and found shoshone Indians and tries to trade fore horses. Then the rst of the expidetion came and it happened to be sacajaweias brother.

Sacajawea becomes ill. She is given herbs and becomes stonger

Almost starved but found food in what is now present day Weippe, Idaho. Found food here such as berries and meat.

Terrible storms keep the expidetion from moving on near Mt. Hood. They had to wait out the storm twenty miles from the ocean.

They named the fort after Clatsop Indians. It is in present day Oregon.

The group number 27 from expedition caught the blackfeet trying to steal there horses and guns. The night before lewis speends time with them.
