The US sent an invasion to Omaha Beach. The Germans had a very strong defense and were anticipating the attack. It was a bloodbath. -

The US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki with new weapons: Atomic bombs. Anyone and anything within a 5 mile radius was destroyed. Many died horrible, slow deaths. It was a victory for America and a devastating loss for Japan.
