Lawrence Carl is born
Lawrence was born today and he is doing very well for being a pre term baby. He was a little smaller than the rest of the babies, around 4.5 lbs but it didn't take him long to bounce up and start eating. He took right to breast feeding. I was a little concerned with his weight and delivering early. My doctor told me that the extra stress at work and the fact that my husband is significantly older than me may have been factors.(feldman text, pg. 97). Overall I am feeling well. -

9 Months old
Newborn feedingLawrence (larbear) is definitely growing fast. I started reading stories to him at night and while I breast feed. He loves to stare at me when I talk to him. I am a little sad to stop breast feeding but I feel that he is so active and is less interested in feeding and more interested in moving around. He is also realy into solid foods at this time (feldman text, pg. 130). We started giving him tastes of vegetables and let him take the initiative from there. -
Happy 1st Birthday
Lawrence is 1 year today. Can't believe how the time flies. He's walking around and getting to be so stable on his feet. He is genrally sleeping though the night at this stage which makes it easier to get the rest I need. I am worried about his development as he has a very strong attachment to me and doesn't want me to leave him when others are around. My sister calls in stranger anxiety, where caution and warieness is displayed by infants when being near an with an unfamiliar person (pg,172) -
1st day of school!
Lawrence is excited for school he just loves the thought of being a big boy and learning new things. Though he has made friends through preschool and the neighborhood, I still want to encourage him socially. I reminded him that many of his prechool friends will not be attending the same school. He understands but, he still thinks he is going to be king of the hill at school and he is determined about it. Since boys are more agressive than girls at this age(Feldman pg.264) we will see. -
Silly Putty
Lawrence loves silly putty. He loves to move around and make shapes out of it. His favorite shape is to try to make a perfect circle. Once he makes this circle, he pretends its a bouncy ball and bounces it on the floor. He is exhibiting piaget's conservation of substance and learning to manipulate that substance (Feldman pg.222) -
12 Years old
Lawrence is definitely into math and science he loves doing all of that technical stuff. Though he is slipping in the readin we may need a tutor.He seems to have gotten quite tall over the last few months. Though he has been shorter than the girls around, he seems to have caught up. The Feldeman text suggest that boys begin getting taller than girls around age 13 (pg. 355) -
High School!!!!!!!
Lawrence is in high school. Of course, he is imeadiately popular with the girls and he is very cute and very athletic. He does still have some mood swings and sometimes he doesn't want to engage anyone. I know that this is part of him growing into his hormones(Feldman pg. 251). He is still the that akward adolescent phase. -
College and beyond
Lawrence got an athletic scholaship to the school he wanted but is not sure if he wants to go to school or wait and take a year off. Lawrence has reach identitiy achievement (Feldman pg. 410) in that he knows he wants to do these things, but he feel that a break might be in order to ensure that he makes the right decision.
