Laertes hamlet

Laertes Timeline

  • Laertes Goes to France

King Claudius turns to Laertes and allows him to go to France after he had checked with his father. Polonius agrees and Laertes prepares for his journey and soon to be absent for a lot of the play. "Your leave and favor to return to France,
From whence though willingly I came to Denmark
To show my duty in your coronation,
Yet now, I must confess, that duty done,
My thoughts and wishes bend again toward France" (I, ii, 51-56)
