Katherin Paterson was born in 1932 on a un-known date. She was born into a family of 5 children and was in the middle.She was born in China

Her family were forced to leave there family home because of the Japanese invasion. They retured to China several years later. Between 1937 and 1950 the family moved 13 time because of her parents missionary, the war in China and because of work.

Katherine graduated from a schoo in Japan with a degree in Englidh.

Katherine married John Paterson, adopted 2 children and gave birth to 2 children.

Katherine started her professional job as a 5th and 6th grade teacher.

In 1966 she wrote 'Who am I' and several other books but unfortunatly they were not published. :(

Bridge to Terabithia was published in 1977 and also won the Newberry Medal in the same year. This motivated Katherine even more to write.

A lot of people really liked Bridge to Terabithia that they wanted it to be made into a film. The film was realised in 2007.

In 2008 Katherine was awared the opputunity to become the Vice-President of the National Childrens Books and Literacy Aliance.
Katherine has succed a lot through out her life time.
