'The Wireless Weekly' published an article by Flynn on Feburary 4th entitled 'Bush Wireless'. This was the year slogan 'Mantle of Safety' was first introduced. Flynn used it in an article pulished in October issuseof the 'Inlander'. 1927 also saw Cloncurry selected as the base of the A.I.M Aerial Medical Service.'Medical Journal of Australia of December 24 carried an advertisment for a Flying Doctor.

Flynn died on the 5 May. He 's body was cremented and his ashes rest under the Flynn Memorial Stones in Alice Springs. He's wifes ashes were placed in the same spot in 1976
