John Dupré born on 3 July 1952, is the Director of Egenis, The Centre for the Study of Life Sciences, at the University of Exeter, and Professor of Philosophy of Science.

He received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge in 1981, and was a Junior Research Fellow at St John’s College, Oxford from 1980-1982. He was a member of the Stanford University Department of Philosophy from 1982 to 1996.
