    DUPRE: BIRTH
Not too much is published in reference to John Dupre's childhood. The only information available was his actual birthday which hid itself very well. Also noted was his British citizenship. I deduce that he was born in Britain:)

  • DUPRE: QUOTE ON EVOLUTION

    DUPRE: QUOTE ON EVOLUTION
"we have buffered an outdated view of evolution with a thicket of surrounding dogma and presumption that stands in the way of advancing the theory in line with the stunning insights that are being gained in other areas of biology…evolution is a mosaic of more or less related processes…" (Processes of Life, p. 160)
  • DUPRE: APPROACH TO SCIENCE

    DUPRE: APPROACH TO SCIENCE
He follows a process of Pluralistic approach to science, in contrast to a reductionist approach by many. Like Popper, he sees the world structure, not of reductionism but that of Pluralistic approach. He believes it is not possible for the world to be structured in such a way as reductionism thought. Reductionism sees psychological facts reducible to neurological facts, which is in turn are reducible to biological facts.
