Jesse Owens was born in oakville Alabama. He lived in a shabby rundown house. Which he described wooden planks thrown together. It leaked cold wind in Winters. It was so hot he could hardly breathe in the Summers. (Jesse Owens is so old theres no pictures of him being a kid)

Jesse Owens moved to Ohio. There he moved to bolton Elementry. Thats where his name changed to Jesse.
Because a teacher asked him his name for enrollment. He sad J.C but th teacher thought he said Jesse. -

In 1935 Jesse Owens marries Minnie Ruth Soloman. They met at Fairmount Junior High School in 1930. A couple years later they had a daughter named gloria.

The 1936 olympics was held in berlin. Aug 1 to 16. There. Jesse Owens got 4 gold medals! He also broke 2 world record's for the 200 meter dash he gotn 20.7 seconds. For high jump he got 8.06! He also tied the 100 meter dash with a score of 10.3.

In 1979 Jesse Owens was rewarded yet again. He was awarded the living legend award by President Carter. Jesse owens got awarded this because President Carter thought he deserved this because of his 1936 olympics.

Jesse owens died on March 31 1980. He was buried in oakwood cemetry in Chicago. Many people came to this olympic heros funeral.
