James Matthew Barrie was born on May 9th 1860 in the untied kingdom. -
Barrie was the ninth son of Margaret Ogilvy and David Barrie, who was a weaver.

His first successful book, Auld Licht Idylls 1888 contained sketches of life in Kirriemuir, and the stories in A Window in Thurms 1889 continued to explore that setting. -

Barrie’s marriage in 1894 to the actress Mary Ansell was childless and apparently unconsummated. -
His mother later dies in September 3rd 1895. -
The play Peter Pan or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up was first produced in December 1904. -
His marriage ended in divorce in April 1910. -
