This is where he hitched a ride from Wayne Westerberg. Gets a job offer and works on a farm for Wayne for a while. -
Mexico
After Wayne was arrested Alex made his way all the way down the Colorado River until he was able to sneak into Mexico -
Border Patrol
Alex is caught by immigration police at the Tex-Mex Border. Held overnight but released after explaining his situation. -
Arizona
He gets a trailer to stay in here and a job at McDonalds. Stayed here for a few months. He wrote a letter here saying he might settle there for a while. -
California
This is where he sets up camp for a few nights. Meets Ronald Franz, learns some techniques from him, such as how to make a leather belt. -
Carthage SD Again
Here is where he ended up after being with Franz, began work for Wayne again while making his final preparations for Alaska. -
Fairbanks
He has now finally made it to his final destination and is given a ride out to the stampede trail by Jim Gallien. -
