This is a time frame of Emma's life that contains some major events in her life. -
Identity Vs. Identity Confusion
After graduating highschool, Emma made the decision to move out of her parent's house to attend Medical school. This challenge will help develop her about life as she hopes to become a dcotor one day. In Erikson's fifth stage identity verses identity confusion, identity is when an individual develops awareness of who he/she is and identity confusion is the opposite when an individual becomes lost to his or her identity. -
Intimacy Vs. Isolatoin
Emma (age 23) and Ben decided to unite and become one. They exchanged vows on their wedding day promising to love and cherish one another for the rest of their lives together. In Erikon's sixth stage Intimacy Vs. Isolation, the crisis is for an individual to engage in a close intimacy relationship with another person or to isolate oneself away without an intimacy partner. -
Generativity Vs. Stagnation
Emma and Ben welcomed their first child Brice into the world. They now not only have themselves to care for but also a tiny innocent human being. This new chapter of life, Emma will establish a commitment to take care of baby Brice. In Erikson's seventh stage, generativity is how an adult learn and contribute to care for others while stagnation focuses on when an individual decides to focus on his or her own needs instead. -
Ego Intergrity Vs. Despair
Emma has been married to Ben for 20 years now. Emma is a mother of five children and a grandma to 12 grandchild. Emma is still working as a doctor and in hopes to retired soon from her passionate career. In Erikson's eighth stage of ego intergrity verses despair, ego intergrity is when an individual accepts all the good and bad of his or her life and reflects positively on it. Despair on the other hand is when an individual is full of regrets and negativity resentments towards his/her life.
