The academy of Philadelphia opened in 1751 under the influence of Ben Franklin. After Franklin retired from his business life he desired to impact education. Ben Franklin wanted to make the impact in mathematics, science and english disciplines. Franklin knew in his heart that theses subjects would help the youth throughout the future generations.
