Professor Ian Hecking was elected to the Collège de France, where he held the Chair of Philosophy and History of Scientific Concepts. This is one of the many positions he held, but one of the most prestigious for his background. -
Like the Other awards Professor Ian Hacking once again earned the Killam Prize, one of Canada's most sought after awards. He also earned $100,000 for this accomplishment. He was the first to be awarded the Killam award for humanity which makes this accomplishment even more special. -
Proffesor Ian Hecking won the Balzan Prize for Epistemology and Philosophy of Mind, even though he shared this Prize with Professors Sullivan, Tilman, and Torelli who all had their fair portion in it when it came to the mathematics and the natural sciences. They all deserved to add this to a very successful resume.
