    Hacking would go on to study at Oxford, Stanford and Princeton. By the end Hacking had earned a PH D in mathematics, his books were very well received as well(Grandy, K. (2013) but Hacking's greatest achievements were yet to come.

    From the time his book "The Emergence of Probability" was published in 1975 to his 1990 masterpiece "The Taming of Chance", Hacking became the foremost expert on probability and the theory of chance, the understanding of which came about during the renaissance(Ian hacking.     Hacking today (1990- Present)

    Hacking also studied multiple personalities even going so far as writing a book on the subject in 1995. Hacking was able to bridge the gap between black and white mathematics and philosophy(an Hacking - Balzan Prize for epistemology and philosophy of mind. (n.d.). His work to this day helps students from all walks of life understand that mathematics has a place in both the search for truth and fact as well as what lies in between.
