On this date, at around 8:16 a.m. Japanese time, an American plane called Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb onto the city of Hiroshima. This is an example of one of the only two cases of nuclear weapons being used by the U.S. The other being Nagasaki. Of the 90,000 buildings only about 28,00 remained after this bombing. Few doctors and nurses were alive and capable of working. This ended up causing Japan to quickly surrender to the Allies, on August 15 to be exact. -

In the late year of 1946 a man by the name of Rudolph Wurlitzer, the creator of the Model 1015 jukebox, had released this jukebox as well as twenty-four other designs to the public. His creations would go to sell over fifty-six thousand, in less than two years! The jukebox was then considered a pop culture icon, one of the reasons for this title being from this event. -

Five men snuck into security firm Brinks Inc. in Boston, all heavily dressed in professional clothing. In mere minutes the group had stolen over $1.2 million in cash, and over $1.5 million in checks and other securitys. -

In the year of 1954 the first sucessful kidney transplant took place, between the two Herrick twins. This surgery was very challeging for this age. Doctors wern't quite aware of how to keep a kidney from one man, alive in the other. Not only this but some doctors were bothered ethincally by the thought of this, they didn't like making another person unhealthy so another could be. -
Montgomery Bus Boycott

The Montgomery Bus Boycott took place from the dates December 5th, 1955 until December 20th, 1956. This event was lead by Martin Luther King Jr., and was a nonviolent act of rebelion. This event involved blacks all across Montgomery to find other means of transportation other than the bus for one day. After this was sucessful, Martain helped desegrate multiple buses around the country. -

A very popular author by the name of Dr.Suess made his first children's book on March 12th, 1957. This book features on of the most popular non-fictional characters, the Cat in the Hat. This book became a widespread shortly after the book was released, selling over one-million copies in the first three years since it's debut! Now movies, plays, and other media has replicated this all time classic. -

In the year of 1963, Holly graduated from Washington high school. Washington high school is located within Milwaukee Wisconsin, and is also the same high school Frank attended. -
Holly's Wedding
On May 9th, 1965, Holly married a man named Frank. Frank had also turned out to have attended Washington high school, the same one she graduated from. These two have now been married for 49 years, going onto 50 next May. -
Holly's First Child, Mike, is Born
On Feburary 27th, 1966, Holly gave birth to Micheal Palmisano, who was often nicknamed Mike. -

On April 10th, 1910, it was announced to the public that the Beatles were offically a broken up band. August 20th, 1969 was the last time the group got together to do a recording. Shortly into the next year, everyone went their seperate ways. A few years later, in 1980, John was murdered by a fan. And even later, in 2001, George eventually died due to a long battle with lung cancer. -
Holly Adopts Daniel
Holly's second son, Daniel, was born on July 1st, 1972. He was actually adopted by Holly and Frank, picked up to be Mike's younger brother. -

The first Star Wars movie, called A New Hope, was released on May 25th, 1977. This movie was the first of several Star Wars films made by the director, George Lucas. His movie was popular throughout the country, getting popular ratings and several awards down the road. This movie was based off the Star Wars books, written by the director, George Lucas. -
Holly's Father Died
On September 14th, 1981 Leslie Jakes was declared dead. He had died of sickness which had been affecting him long before Mike was even born. -
Holly Takes Her First Trip to Europe
In the year of 1984, on July 8th, Holly and her family took a trip all the way to Europe. This was Holly's first trip their, and her second trip ot of the country. They stayed their from July 8th till July 24th. -
Holly's Mother Remarries
Holly's mother, Mariann, remarried a man by the name of Ray. This was after Holly's original father, Jake, had died of sickness. Ray was Mariann's final husband. -
Berlin Wall Begins Gets Crumbled

Starting November 9th and continuing for the several following weeks, the tear down of the Berlin Wall took place. Thousands of people came from both east and west Germany to tear down this wall. Commonly taking sledgehammers and smashing them against the concret. Some people did it to get rid of pieces of the wall, rather this be for souvenirs, memorials, or just to get the wall down and reunite Germany. -

This was the day that Holly's son Daniel got married. He was the first between him and his brother. Dan married a women named Teresa, who is still his wife today. -
Nelson Mandela Becomes President

After years and years of standing up for black rights in his country, Nelson Mandela was finally elected president on April 27th, in 1994. Mandela won 62% of the votes, becoming president of South Africa. This was major because Mandela was the first African-American executive. He died years later in 2013, at the age of 95. -
Holly's First Grandcild Is Born
I, Megan Palmisano, was Holly's first grandchild. I am the only girl of her grandchildren, and was born on June 19th, in the year 2001.
