    First Olympics

    The first olympics take place in Greece. Women are excluded, so they create their own games. The Games of Hera were competed in every 4 years.
  • Women First compete in the Olympics

    Paris, 22 women out of 997 athletes compete in the olympics. They compete in 5 events. Tennis, sailing, croquet, golf, and equestrian.
  • Swimming and Diving

    Swimming and diving has been approved for women to compete in.
  • AOC opposes Women's competition

    American Olympic Committee formally opposses women's competition. The only exception is floor excercise. Women are required to wear long skirts.
  • Women's Field Hockey Denied

    American women apply to compete in hte 1920 Antwerp Olympics. Their application is denied.
  • American women reach full Olympic Status

    American Women competing in swimming are the first to achieve full olympic status.
  • First Winter Games

    The first winter games are in Chamonix. Figure skating is the only sport that women are allowed to compete in.
  • Gymnastics and Track and Field

    Gymanastics and Track and Field competitions are opened up to women.
  • First Lady Rides down Bobsled

    Eleanor Roosevelt takes ride in bobsled for the Lake Placid games.
  • Black Women Not Allowed to Compete

    Louise Stokes and Tiyde Pickett qualify for the LA games but are not allowed to compete.
  • Volleyball is added

    Womens Volleyball is added to the Olympic Games
