    Democritus 400 B.C

    Democritus 400 B.C
He discovered that everything is made up of atoms."the more any indivisible exceeds, the heavier it is" (mass). If he could cut substances into smaller pieces, there would be a piece so small that you woulnt be able to see it, the small particle would be an atom. in his mind, the atoms were differnet in size, they had space between them, some had hooks & eyes, and others had balls with sockets. • Dalton

    Dalton
He discovered that certain gases could be combunned in certain porportions & all elemens of a given name are "the same". The method he used to make his discovery was by looking at how things reacted. Dalton also thought the atom was indivisible smaller pieces, and it was made up of matter. John Dalton's Atomic Model. • Thomson

    Thomson
Thomson discovered that atoms are cuttable. He determined that rays consisted of light weight and negavtively charged particles. Thomson discovered the electrons and he made a model of the atom which negatively charged electrons were embedded in a positively charged sphere. The experiment he used was The Cathide Ray Tube Experiment. Dewitt, Tyler. "Discovery of the Electron: Cathode Ray Tube Experiment." YouTube. YouTube, 27 Nov. 2012. Web. 20 Feb. 2015.
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford discovered that the atom has a hard nucleus in the middle with positive protons. The method he used to make his discovery was the Gold foil experiment. He also thought the atom looked like there is a nucleus with a positve charge. Elizabeth Wyman, 2003. Web.
  • Bohr

    Bohr
Niels Bohr dicsovered that electrons had to release energy to change its energy. The method he used to make this discovery was, when white light if diffracted with a prism, all colors of the visible spectrum are seen. Also, in Bohr's mind, the atom was that the atom had electrons orbitting the nucleus. Niels Bohr Atomic Theory. NCS Pearson, n.d. Web. 2014. Bohr's Atomic Model. Jerry Coffey, n.d. Web. 4 Dec. 2009.
  • Heisenberg and Schrodinger

    Heisenberg and Schrodinger
Schrodinger has shown that these electrons do not move and the waves are stationary and an electron is not in a particular position when you are not looking. Schrodinger used the method Two - Slit experiment. The name of the model is Schrodinger model.
