    Democritus

    Democritus
Democrritus said , 'Everything is made of atoms. Atoms are physically , but not geometrically , indivisble, between atoms are empty space' Democritus said the atom would be like an iron hook that locks them together like a solid.
  • Dalton

    Dalton
<a href='http://http://the-history-of-the-atom.wikispaces.com/John+Dalton' Dalton discovered that all matter has atoms and they are indivisible. He also stated that all elements are pure. All elements' atoms are the same
  • Thomson

    Thomson
Thomson discoverd they have an electron and atoms weren't totally solid and indivisble , but up of smaller sub-atomic particles. Thomson used the ray tube experiment. Thomson suggested that atom looked like a blueberry muffin and he called it the plum-pudding-atom
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford said the there was something small and hard inside the atoms , when an alpha particle hit the atom that it would bounce back off in another direction. The experiment he used to find this was the Gold Foil Experiment.
  • Bohr

    Bohr
he added a nucleus to the atom. His theory was known as Quantum Mechanics. His model of the atom reminded people of the planetary system, which gave it the name the planetary model.
  • schrodinger

    schrodinger
His model of the nucleus only had protons which means it is positively charged. He gathered evidence from experiments for example Schrodinger's cat was an experiment he did.
