Democritus discovered that atoms are particles that cannot be broken down into any smaller parts. He took a seashell and broke it down until it couldn't be broken down any longer. He called them atoms because atoms means "invisible" in Greek.he said that they attracted like Velcroo does and that atoms can fit into each other and can also be pulled apart.

    Aristotle
    http://the-history-of-the-atom.wikispaces.com/Aristotle
Aristotle did not believe n teh atomic theory and he taught so otherwise. He thought that all materials on Earth were not made of atoms but of the four elements: Earth, Fire, Water and, Air.

Dalton said that atoms were broken down to their smallest parts, allatoms od the same element have the same atoms, compounds are made of two or more kinds of atoms, and that chemical reaction is a rearrangement of atoms.
  • Thomson

    Thomson
    http://thelittleguy22.tripod.com/id3.html
Thomson discovered electrons and he already knew that electrons had a negative charge and that matter must have a positive charge.his model looked like raisins in pudding calling it the Plum Pudding" Model.
  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford video on moodle at Socratic.com
    http://mclapper.edublogs.org/
He belived and discovered that there was a nig nucleus with an overall positive charge and assumed that electrons were on the outside of a nucleus.SHYRON ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ADD YOUR INFO AND DO NOT FORGET THE PICTURES:)
  • Bohr

    Bohr

    http://profmokeur.ca/chemistry/history_of_the_atom.htm
He expanded on Rutherford's thory by saying that protons are in the nucleus and that electrons surrounded the nucleus. He said that electrons only moved on certain paths. The outer valence electrons determined the chemical property of an elememt is also what Bohr said.

    http://www.buzzle.com/articles/electron-cloud-model.html
He discovered that electrons move so fast that they can not be located and that they are located but that we do not know where they are located.he said that you did not know the velocity of an atom's particle.
