    Democritus 400BC

    Democritus 400BC
Democritus discovered the atom through theory, he thought atoms have the appearance as a small, hard, capsule of the substance.

  • Dalton

    Dalton
Dalton merely indetailed Democritus' theory but he did think atoms of the same elements appear and are the same in everyway but if an atom was made of element than it would look different and if they mix than they together would make a numeral ratio

  • Thomson

    Thomson
Thomson found atoms are cuttable while he was studying rays of light, also the electrons and the atoms are negatively charged within a positively charged ball, his model was called the "Plum Pudding Model"

  • Rutherford

    Rutherford
Rutherford had his discovery while exprimenting with a gold sheet and thought the nucleus is surrounded by the electrons that are traveling at a great speed through the atom's outer parts he also believe that was how the atoms appeard.

  • Bohr

    Bohr
Bohr said that electrons could only travel in a certain orbit around the nucleus. He also believed that atoms appeared with the electrons orbiting the nucleus like a solar system

  • Heisenberg and Schrodinger

    Heisenberg and Schrodinger
Though they never worked directly together they did use Quatum theroy and the Uncertain princple to find more about the atom, like Heisenberg's discovery of the atoms constantly moving and couldn't be given a pen-pointed location. They also thought the atom appeared with the necleus is surrounded by containing the position of eletrons within it.
