    Democritus
Around 400 B.C. Democritus thought there were particles that made up everything in the universe and were indivisible. He called these atomos. He used curiosity and observations instead of theorys and math like that salt atoms were spiky and sharp. He thought the atom looked like just a single particle.

    John Dalton
In 1808 John Dalton designed experiments to discover that atoms were arranged in different combinations to make compunds. He thought the atom looked like a single particle arranged in different ways. "GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline." GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline. N.p., n.d. J.J Thomson
In 1904 Thomson used cathode rays to find out electrons had a small mass but a negative chrage and that all atoms had electrons and now he says that atoms werent divisible. He thought if you took an atom and split it there would be negative charged electrons stuck in a positive charged substance.

    Rutherford
In 1911 Rutherford created a experiment called the gold foil experiment where he shot alpha particles towards a gold foil and he thought they would go right through. But some bounced back meaning there a had to be a center that was positive. He discovered that atoms had a nucleus and had empty space between the nucleus in the center and the electrons and he said that the positive charge was not distributed throughout the atom. • Bohr

    Bohr
In 1913 Bohr used Plancks theory to find out that the ratio of energy in electrons was equal to plancks. So Bohr said electrons move between different orbits and said that electrons were orbiting the nucleus. He thought that there was a centered positive nucleus with negative electrons orbitting the nucleus like planets."GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline." • Heisenberg and Schrodinger

    Heisenberg and Schrodinger
In 1911 Heisenberg used a quantum theory to discover that electrons instead of orbiting they were making random shapes from hyperactivity. He said that electrons were and weren't particles and waves. In the quantum mechanical model he thought there was a positive nucleus and electrons were ''buzzing'' around it making random shapes."GaggleTube Video - Models of the Atom Timeline."
