JJ Thompson discovered the electron while experimenting with a cathode tube. He discovered that they were negatively charged. He came up with the Plum Pudding model.

In 1911 he demonstrated that the atom has a tiny,heavy nucleus. He said that Thompsons model was incorrect..which was true. He made a model that had the positively charged nucleus in the middle while the negatively charged electrons orbited around the outside.

In 1913 Bohr made a model similar to The Rutherford model of the atom called the Bohr Model. He stated that there was a small, positively charged nucleus in the middle while the electrons orbited around the nucleus
