    Democritus
Democritus was an early Greek philosopher. He believed that there has to be some particle that is can't be divided any more (site the paper tearing example yo used in class). He called these particles Atomos, which literally means "can't be cut". He also made 5 points of his theory:
    1. All matter is made of undividable particles called atoms
    2. There is a void where there is empty space between the atoms
    3. Atoms are solid
    4. Atoms are homogeneous with no internal structure
    5. Atoms vary
