    Democritus

    Democritus
Democritus was born c. 460 BC. He was born in Abdera, Thrace, and died c. 370 BC. He was unspecified of his death. Matter cannot be divided into smaller pieces. This would be invisible. Atoms: smallest piece – meaning “not to be cut”
  • Isaac Newton

    Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was born on the 4th of January 1643 in Woolsthorpe Lincolnshire, England and died 31st of March 1727 in London England by Illness. Greatest English mathematician of his generation. He made work make him one of the greatest scientists the world has known. He proposed a mechanical universe with small masses in motion.
  • Benjamin Franklin

    Benjamin Franklin
Franklin was born 17th of January 1706 in Boston, MA and he died 17th of April 1790 in Philadelphia, Pa.He discovered this by his amazing stormy kite flight in June 1952.He realised that matter can have charges which he made plus (+) and the minus being (-)This made him develop that idea of this.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
John Dalton was born on the 6th of September 1766. He was born in Eaglesfieled, Cumberland, England. He died on the 27th of July 1844 in Machester, England. Atom is made up of matter! He became a English teacher when he was 12. Atoms can be indivisible or indestructible. Atoms are in elements ether by Mass or Properties They can be created or destroyed. Atoms can rearrange chemical reaction. Compounds form two or more different kinds of atoms.
  • Michael Faraday

    Michael Faraday
Michael Faraday was born on 22nd of September 1791, in Newington Butts, England but died on the 25th of August 1876 in Hampton Court, London, England. He studied effects of electricity on the coined term “electrolysis” as splitting molecules with electricity! He discovered electrical induction.Himself wasn’t a proponent of an atomism.
  • James Clerk Maxwell

    James Clerk Maxwell
Maxwell was born on the 13th of June in 1831 in Edinburgh, Scotland but died on the 5th of November 1879 in Cambridge England. Greatest scientists James Clerk Maxwell discovered the theory of electromagnetism. In 1873 he made electric and magnetic fields.
  • Joseph John Thomson

    Joseph John Thomson
Thomson was born 18th of December 1856 in Cheetham Hill, England and died 30th of August 1940. Atom has positive charge and a negative charge electron in it. The positive and negative charges in atom are equal, which is electrically neutral. Negative and positive charge is nothing.
  • Robert Millikan

    Robert Millikan
Millikan was born on the 22nd March 1868 in Morrison, IL but died on 19th of December in 1953 in San Marino, Ca because of Heart Failure. He made the charge on an electron. He put a tiny drop of oil on a charge to measure how strong an applied electric field had to be in order for the oil drop from falling.
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Rutherford was born on the 30th of August 1871 in Brightwater, New Zealand, but died on 19th of October 1937 in Cambridge England, because of a complication of surgery. Rutherford described in detail the nuclear model of the atom. There is a atomic nucleus because Rutherford discovered it.
  • Neils Bohr

    Neils Bohr
Bohr was born on the 7th of October 1885 in Copenhagen Denmark and died on the 18th of November 1862 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1992 Bohr he won the Nobel Prize in Physics. He discovered that electrons travel in fixed orbits around in the atoms nucleus. Explained how electrons absorb energy, He discovered the outer orbits hold more electrons than the inner orbits. That atoms travel from one orbit to another in tiny amounts. These orbits determine chemical properties of an atom.
  • Erwin Schrodinger

    Erwin Schrodinger
Schrodinger was born on the 12th of August 1887 in Vienna Austria but died on the 4th of January 1961 in Vienna, Austria. He got a Nobel Prize in 1933 by a development of Quantum Mechanics. A Wave Mechanics was a mathematical model of the atom. The Wave Mechanics is still the most widely used piece of mathematics in modern theory.
  • James Chadwick

    James Chadwick
James Chadwick was born on 20th of October 1891 in Machester, England but died in 24th of July 1974 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He discovered this by a neutral atomic particle with a mass. He also has discovered the newton. He found out that the mass was close to a proton
  • Paul Dirac

    Paul Dirac
He was born on he 8th August 1902 in Bristol Gloucestershire, England but died in 20th October 1984 in Tallahassee, FL.He was studying engineering when he younger. There was a anti-particles, Anderson discovered the anti-electron in 1832. Serge/chamberlain detected the anti-proton.
  • Murray Gell-Mann

    Murray Gell-Mann
Murray Gell-Mann was born on the 15ths of September 1929 in New York City but when he died and where is unknown. He got the Nobel prize for Physics in 1969 by building blocks of neutrons, protons, and matter. He developed the concept of strangeness for particles in 1953. He was explaining with a quantum number why some hadrons decay by strong nucleus force while others can decay slower by the weak force.
  • De Broglie

    De Broglie
De Broglie was born on 15th of August 1892 in Dieppe, France but died in 19th March 1987 in Paris France.Broglie made the dual particle-wave properties of the electron – He was the Best Known French Mathematician. He discovered that electrons had a dual nature-similar to both waves and particles. The particle or wave duality supported Einstein.
