Alexander Alexandrovich Friedmann was born on June 16th 1888 and died September 16th 1925. He was Russian and was educated at Saint Petersburg State University. He used the astronomical model, with the sun as the centre. He developed the theory of the expanding universe. Here is a famous quote, “can expand, contract, collapse, and might even be born in a singularity.” He introduced the term ‘expanding universe” and came up with a set of equations.
