On January 4th, 2004, Spirit landed on Mars. The rover surpassed its planned mission and ending up logging 4 miles of driving instead of .4, which allowed analysts to see more of Mars' geology. Spirit got stuck in 2009 and its last communication was sent on March 22, 2010.

On April 15th, 2013, two brothers set up two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The bombs exploded and 3 people were killed while an estimated 264 others were injured.
