Plato was a Philosopher taught by the legendary philosopher and the so 'creator of western philosophy, Socrates. So he went off to learn by him, going through being an author, a politician to one of the 3 creators of western philosophy. Socrates (his master), Aristotle (his student) and Plato, himself.
