    Studied at harvard and UCLA, Studied mathematical logic, philosophy of mind and language, epistemology and metaphysics. he wrote a dissertation, under Hans Reichenbach, on the concept of probability, obtaining a Ph.D (Ben-Menahem 2023).

    During the 1960s Putnam was deeply involved in the antiwar movement that opposed U.S. participation in the Vietnam War (Ben-Menahem 2023).
