In 1921 Rudolf Carnap had written a dissertation about the Theory of Space from a philosophical standpoint. It was title 'Der Raum" which means space in German. In this dissertation Rudolf Carnap recognizes the difference between formal, intuitive, and physical theories of space.

In 1952, Rudolf Carnap wrote the work called "Meaning Postulates". In this work takes analytic statements and compares them to logical statements. He goes into how these two types of statements could never be equal.

This book stayed away from metaphysical speculation to try and mainly focus on logical analyses. The book was made to be used by all focuses of science deeming it a guide to the philosophy of science. It goes into logical consequences of scientific law and initial conditions.
