  • Nick moves into West Egg

    Nick moves next door to the notorious James Gatsby, and he will soon realise how big of an impact he is on everyones lives
  • Tom takes NIck to meet Myrtle

    Tom is cheating on his wife Daisy with a low class woman named Myrtle and brings Nick along to meet her and her cousins. They all have a party in the apartment specifically bought for them to be together in, but by the end of the chapter Tom hits Myrtle and breaks her nose.
  • Nick meets Gatsby at his party

    Nick meets Gatsby at one of his partys after searching for him, Gatsby ends up handing Nick a drink and talking to him saying he recognised him from the war, then finally reveals he's Gatsby.
  • Gatsby tells Nick about his plan to meet Daisy

    Gatsby tells Nick an elaborate lie about his past and how he came up to be, he also finally tells Nick about his plan to meet Daisy at Nicks home and to have tea and spend time with his long lost love.
  • Gatsby and Daisy finally meet after 5 long years at Nicks house

    Nick invited Daisy over for tea and brought Gatsby over so that the two may finally meet after 5 long years, but Daisy isn't aware of it. Gatsby shows Daisy his new lifestyle and tells her he loves her and they attempt to be together.
  • Gatsby tells Nick of his past

    Nick discovers that James Gatsby is actually Jay Gats and that he became a gentleman and the kind of person he is today through an old rich man named Dan Cody.
  • Daisy kills Myrtle

    Daisy is driving back home with Gatsby after the confrontation they all had at the hotel and accidently runs over Myrtle and kills her.
  • Gatsby is murdered by George Wilson

    George discovers that Gatsby is the one that killed Myrtle (even though he didn't) and then goes to Gatsbys house and kills Gatsby and himself
  • Gatsby has his funeral

    Gatsby is dead, and Nick is trying to find people to visit for the funeral, but no one says they will come. Gatsbys father comes and some old workers of his, and Daisy never comes and visits.
