    Victor becomes very homesick and receives a letter from his father explaining his brother william has been murdered. " Winter and snow arrived, the roads were deemed impassable...I felt this delay very bitterly, for I longed to see my native town and my beloved friends."(Page 67)

    On Victor's journey back home he encounters the monster and believes that it was responsible for the murder.     Victor becomes more nervous of his confrontation with the monster on his wedding. Victor receives a letter from Elizabeth that reminds Victor of the monsters threat. "This letter revived the memory what I had before forgotten the threat of the fiend- I will be with you on your wedding-night!" (pg 179)

    Victor believed the monster would attack him instead of Elizabeth. Victor searched the cottage for the creature and hears the scream of Elizabeth. Victor is consumed with grief, returns home, and tells his father about the news. Victor's father dies 3 days later. "Suddenly I heard a shrill and dreadful scream." (pg196)

    Walton and his crew travel to find the monster. Victor is dead and Walton witnesses the hideous monster crying over his creators body. The monster says he is deeply sorry for creating all this evil, and now that his creator is dead he is ready to die. "I entered the cabin where lay the remains of my ill-fated and admirable friend. Over him hung a form which I cannot find words to describe." (pg 207)

    Prior to these chapters, Victor was filled with paranoia, and fear of the monster. Later after the monster killed all of Victor's family, he became consumed with rage and revenge to kill the creature.

    Victor's whole family is destroyed. He tracks the monster guided by clues the monster leaves for him. Victor asks Walton to continue his search for the monster. "When I quitted Geneva my first labour was to gain some clue by which I might trace the steps of my fiendish enemy." (pg 192)
