In this scene, Forrest attends the University of Alabama. There, he becomes very popular in football. He joins the team and plays many games.

Forrest graduated from the army. While outside, a man suggested him to join the army. Later that day, he enlisted.

Bubba was Forrest's first friend in the army. While on a mission, they were ambushed. Sadly, Bubba died.

After fighting in the war, Forrest earned a Medal of Honor. This was given to the survivors of the Vietnam War. He later gives this to Jenny.

After leaving the army, Forrest begins shrimping. He feels that he must fulfill his promise to Bubba. Later on, Lieutenant Dan joins him.

After Jenny leaves him, Forrest starts running. He decides to run until the road ends. Every time he reached the ocean, he would turn and keep running.

After meeting his son, Jenny proposes to Forrest. He accepts. They get married and Forrest meets Dan again.

Jeny gets infected by an unknown virus. The doctors don't know how to treat it. She dies.
