    Mishna Torah (book)

    By Rambam. Becuase he studies Torah so much his brohter had to support his financual needs. The Rambam was so smart that he was ahead of his time, so the people said that he was crazy for thinking the right things.

    Tur (Book)

    By Yaakov ben Asher. It is split into 4 parts, whcih were later adopted by the Shulachan Aruch. the 4 sections are:
    Orach Chayim - laws of prayer and synagogue, Sabbath, holidays
    Yoreh De'ah - miscellaneous ritualistic laws, such as shechita and kashrut
    Even Ha'ezer - laws of marriage, divorce
    Choshen Mishpat - laws of finance, financial responsibility, damages (personal and financial) and legal procedure

    Beis Yoseph (commentator)

    This was commentarry by Caro. This is a main portion of the Shulchan Aruch. Becuase of him, this book is very famous and it is used by both sects of Judism.

    Shulchan Aruch (book)

    This is generally the most accepted book becuase Iserlis accepted it and added a little to it which made it into an Ashkeazik and Tsefardic book. Original Author is Rav Yoseph Karo. 3 main commentators are the Rif, Rambam, and the Rosh.
  • Taz (commentator)

    He is a very famous commentator. He wrote in the Shulchan Aruch. His commentaires are in the innercolumn of the book. They are a Russian ethnic group.
  • Shach (commentator)

    He provides more discussions and interpretations on the Shulhan 'Arukh and its sources. He payes special attention to the literature and to works, which were not discussed by Caro.
  • Magen Avraham (commentator)

    AKA: Rabbi Abraham "Abeleh" Gombiner of Kalisz. He referanced to Caro and Isserles, but he generally preffered Isserlis. He kept up with Religious custom and he wrote with reliance to the Kabbalistic traditions.
  • Vilna Gaon (commentator)

    AKA: Elijah ben Shlomo Zalman Kremer. He was an awesome guy. He was a rennosonse man, meaning he was really smart. He had a phoyographic memory. He was also part of the Polish Hasidic movement. There is astory about him standing for his Alef-Bet teacher.
  • Kitzur Shulchan Aruch (book)

    It is a summeray of the Shulchan Aruch, and it also gives the answer to the latest debates. It is for modern times. By Ganzfried.
  • Mishna Brurah (book)

    It is the Halacha for modern day problems. It is mixed with Epstein. It also focuses on the Orachayim. It was written by the Chafetz Chayim.
  • Aruch Hashulchan (book)

    This is the description of the Shulchan Aruch. It goes chapter by chapter and explains the book. Focuses on all 4 chapters. Some of it's referances are from the Rambam and the Talmud Yerushali.
