    Essential part of a man's wardrobe? A suit. Suits were first introduced and made widley popular in the 1920's. They were made from thick wool, pants and shirts which made them heavy. The suit pants always matched the suit jacket. The pants were very wide at the bottom and tight at the waist. If you wanted to look like you're from the 20's looks at The Great Gatsby. Suits in this time period were given a more slim look instead of a casual look. Bow ties and regular ties were highly fashionable.

    Superman became the ideal look in the 30's. Every man wanted to have the borad shoulders, thin waist and tapered legs. Trousers spread farther up the waist and the polo shirt was introduced as a casual piece of clothing people wore in the summer. Flat caps were also introduced and fedoras were still popular. Oxfords were also worn with a business look playing a huge role. With great power, comes a great suit right?

    Zoot suits! The bright suit worn by African-Americans, Chicanos and Italian-Americans. But there were also plain suits to represent a working man or the post-war feeling, dark and bland. The swing scene though brought out the flashy suit to take out his honey. High cut trousers ment a shorter tie and wingtips were brought to the dancefloor. Fedoras are still going strong. Men took risks in the 40's with Hawaiian shirts or a zoot suit but it was a stylish and different look everyone wanted.

    Conformity was the goal of the 50's in fashion. A regular gray flannel suit would make you look clean. Since war was occuring, men could be more casual. Hawaiian shirts and the cowboy style influenced leisure shirts. Loafers were also worn for loafing around. Jeans are introduced to replace torusers for a more casual look. Men also wore cardigan sweaters to keep warm and polo shirts became more popular. The preppy look and the bad boy look was the youth style. Teen Culture was born.

    Changes. That is what the 60's started. Pants became much tighter and something called a scarf was won by men? Suits were also more conservative and more lax clothes were created. The Beatles inspired many mean to look slick and clean with the suit they wore. A bummer was the hippie movement. People started to wear vests without the suit and mix matched patterns and colors. This set off the wide range of colors for any type of clothing.

People still use it today and it is flashy. Highwater pants were also a fad people loved and people also use this today. Neon is probally the statement of the 70's. Bright was the staple and everyone needed to light up the room when they entered.

    80's, the snug fitting and comfotable decade. Matching sweatpants and shirts were a virtue jocks loved to wear because they were comfy and good-looking I guess? Denim was also worn by many teens. Denim jackets, jeans anything, denim was everywhere. Jordans, the greatest sneaker of all time lifted off in the 80's. They were worn with a Starter jacket and a snapback, kinda similar to today huh? If you didn't noticed, suits were declining greatly.

    90's was about skin tight and body hugging outfits. Leeather jackets was somehting everyone had in their closet no matter what? Nothing is better than looking tough and macho. Flannel also was popular with the grungy punk rock music playing a part in it. They also made you look like a southern cowboy. And of course, bright Hawaiian shirts are still a staple. They were casual and ligth hearted but it didn't make you look feminine.Overalls with strap downs and a baseball cap was the look.

    The 2000's was about popped collars and spiky hair that was about three inches. 2000's focused on leisure wear and polo shirts. People wanted clothes that weren't so uncomfortable. but free. They wanted freedom shown in their clothing. So men wore khaki chinos, bootcut jeans and corduroy pants. 2000 the time of casual wear.

    Today, fashion os everything from history and everything new brought into one. Neon is still worn, and suits are obviously still in style. Sunglasses and snapbacks are very popular. Urban clothing is probally the biggest trend of today. Every one wnats the street brands with some joggers and Jordans. History is modernized and that is today.
