    The Truman Doctrine
    The Truman Doctrine was set by Harry Truman witch was president at the time. The Truman Doctrine was stating that the U.S. would support Greece and Turkey with economic and military aid to prevent their falling into the Soviet sphere. Historians often consider it as the start of the Cold War, and the start of the containment policy to stop Soviet expansion.

    The Marshall Plan
    The Marshall Plan was the American program to aid Europe where the United States gave monetary support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II. This tried to prevent the spread of Soviet Communism.
  • Berlin Airlift

    Berlin Airlift
    The Berlin Airlift was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War. During the multinational occupation of post World War II Germany, the Soviet Union blocked the Western Allies railway, road and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Allied control. Their idea was to force the western powers to allow the Soviet zone to start supplying Berlin with food and fuel, thereby giving the Soviets practical control over the entire city.

    The Warsaw Pact was a mutual defense treaty between eight communist states of Eastern Europe in existence during the Cold War. It consisted of many countries of eastern Europe and Russia.

    was a Cold War-era military conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. This was the First Indochina War and was fought between North Vietnam (communist allies) and the government of South Vietnam (anti-communist) countries.

    The Bay of Pigs was an invasion on Cuba to capture or kill Fidel Castro. The United States C.I.A. led the invasion to get Castro out of the parliment. The U.S was unsuccessful on this invasion.

    The war began on June 5 with Israel launching surprise bombing raids against Egyptian air-fields after a period of high tension that included an Israeli raid into the Jordanian controlled West Bank. This War made Isreal what it is today and the fight to maintain Isreal as well. This fight was for land and control of the Gaza Strip and Sinai peninsula.

    Triggered by a bloody military coup which had ousted a four-year revolutionary government, the invasion resulted in a restoration of constitutional government. It was controversial due to charges of American imperialism, Cold War politics, the involvement of Cuba, and the unstable state of the Grenadian government. This was a victory by the U.S in a matter of weeks

    collapse of the soviet union was by declaration 142-H of the Soviet of the Republics of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.This declaration acknowledged the independence of all fifteen republics of the Soviet Union following the creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States. On the previous day, 25 December 1991, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev had resigned.
