  • Earned his doctorate and started work

    In 1930 Ernest Nagel earned his doctorate from Colombia University and later joined the philosophy department at the same University. He worked at this college for the majority of his entire philosophical career. During his years at Colombia, he was the editor of the Journal of Philosophy and Journal of Symbolic Logic.

  • A successful collaboration

    Morris Cohen and Ernest Nagel collaborated together on An Introduction on Logic and the Scientific Method. This was the textbook ended up becoming the most successful written on the scientific method.
