They used the power of student-led anti-war activism with the public’s emerging environmental consciousness to be the drive for their event. They managed to host the event at the Washington monument as an education about the environmental conservation importance With over 20 million people.

Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) is used internationally to ensure that the international trading doesn’t threaten the survival of any species. CITES has 3 levels. Appendix 1 protects animals that are threatened by extinction, Appendix 2 are for animals that does not currently have extinction threats but could be threatened if trade was not restricted, Appendix 3 are animals that are protected in at least 1 country that wants helped control in international trades.

September 17th, 1982, there was a protest in Warren Country, North Carolina. The community that has been treated badly with wastes in their area has come together to catch the attention of many national civil rights leaders.
